Default how do you make a indash cd/dvd player to work while driving?

i had a jensen on an is300 and circuit city connected ebrake on in order the dvd to work and now i i tooked it out and hook it in my new car. igot the songs to work but now the dvd doest work with or without the ebreak. help me please!
