HOW? Del Sol subs??
After searching and not seeing any good ideas, though you guys could help. How did you del sol owners or friends of.. make a box for the inside, not the trunk? Just need some ideas before I start ripping off construction sites... not really..
I've seen some custom fiberglass boxes mounted between the seats. There isn't much room anywhere else in the interior is there?

if you REALLY wanted them, i think you could remove that whole back part. the two storage bins behind the seats. i saw one like that. didn't look too bad, but i'd rather have my storage bins.

there you go. i personally wouldn't go into doing all that. a pair of good speakers are perfect for me. maybe a sub. but i would never do more than that, especially cause its such a small car. but then again, i'm not looking to turn my music up so loud where it disturbs other people. as long as i can hear it decently loud i'm good.

JL Audio makes a stealthbox that comes with two 8" W6s (I think...it's been a while since I've looked at these).
There are also a couple carbon fiber sub boxes floating around that fit three 10" or 12" (can't remember) subs. Other than that, most shops should be able to build you a box that fits behind the seats. There is enough room to get a good amount of subs back there, assuming one removes the cargo bins.
I've also seen installs where one 10" was mounted in a box that sits between the two storage compartments; the sub faces out between the seats. This still allows the use of the bins, and any shop could probably fab something up similar to that.

Any more pictures or a website of this car? Very similar to what I'd like to do.

I don't have any more info on that particular car/set up. I did see a similar one at Club Sol 98 in Kansas City, but that wasn't quite as nicely done.
I figure the simplest way to do it for a beginner like me is to build an MDF box for the subs that has the angled face, then using the stretchy material and fiberglass form the curved sides and top to make it smooth. Once my house is ready (3 car garage, yay!!) and I have some time, I'll tackle that. My only concern is being able to remove it easily if necessary.
Oh yeah, I had the JL Audio stealthbox (the old version that came with 8W1's)....it was nice, but nothing spectacular. However, I like the seamlessness of the above picture better than the JL.....

A friend of mine had this in his del sol a few years ago (can't remember what subs he put in w1's or 0's). it was so simple to install.

Yeah, I don't like the JL enclosure very well. It just doesn't seem to match the interior.
And you're right about starting out with an MDF enclose. That's what I was planning on doing until I became better with fiberglass.

Why not fiberglass a 6-8" sub enclosure in the passenger foot area.
If done right you would only loose minimal floor space.....Then
again who cares about the passengers anyway?
I personally have done this in Fiero's ( remember those)...with
great results...wicked cool bass.

I looked at a Sol to buy that had a box in the passenger footwell. Not a bad idea, but the bass imaging would be all weird. Obviously you won't get good imaging with the subs behind the seat, but I think it would be less biased; IMHO that's better.
The lower the frequency, the less directional sound becomes. Because of this, bass imaging shouldn't suffer that much. It may be noticeable depending on how the system is setup though.

thats what i was thinking of doing. thought i was pretty smart for coming up with a way to have a sub AND my storage, but i guess i'm not the first.
