How to blow sub?
Ok heres the thing. I want to blow my subs but i dont know how to do it quickly. sure the wall socket would wokr but that would be obvious I did that. I have a kenwood KAC-7201(800watt max, 460watts rms bridged to 4 ohm). How long will it take to blow if i bridge one of my 12" infinity subs(reference) so it runs 460 watts rms(the speaker is 4ohm)?
Are there other ways to blow them also?
ps - no this isnt fraud, my subs warranty ran out a LONG time ago so theres no way I could take it back to any store.

how would it be legal to fudge those numbers? i know the 800w part is BS but the rms of the 460? i dont understand

That is a 2 chanel amp, capable of 800 watts max bridged ... bridged it can go 460watts rms
So how is that 800w BS?

I never said the numbers on the box were "fake". If you do some research on how amps are rated, you'd learn that manufacturers test their amps under some pretty unattainable circumstances. First, they use regulated power supplies capable of delivering a clean 14.4 volts. Second, they drive the amps with extremely clean signals. There are many other variables that stay constant on their test bench that simply cannot be duplicated in most cars.
Unless your amp is receiving 14.4 volts, and you've got 5-8v of clean signal going into that amp, it is NOT going to put out those numbers in your car.
But anyways... If you want to blow them, switch the crossover to high pass and crank it up.

alright, i get it, sry if i sounded like a dumbass tho. I have 4v outputs so i guess i wouldnt be getting the full power. I took care of the "subwoofer situation" tho. thanks for all the replies
