I have a 2001 Accord with AM/FM, cassette 6CD in dash unit. My old CD player was trashed when a piece of plastic got into it. I bought a unit that came from a 04 CRV that I was told would work although it had a different serial number. The unit looks the same and plug is the same. It does have a clock in the display that my old one didn't.

When I installed the new unit I can get the radio to work but not the CD player. At first I got nothing when I pressed CD buttons (CD or load). Later if press load it would act like it would take a CD but just kept inserting and ejecting the CD.

I tried taking the CD player out of the new unit and putting into my old unit but get same results only the radio works. I get nothing when I press CD or load.

Did I get a bad unit or is the newer model different than my old model.

Any suggestions?
