High end audio names?
Can I get a list of high end audo names for the following:
Component speakers: (Fairly high end here...this can include certain high end series from regular companies (I know infinity makes some good stuff) or just the all out high-end like focal and MB quart...put down the CO's you like please)
Subwoofers: (same thing here...but for 8 and 10 inch subs specifically...the better league again (something like the Audiobahn alum10's or the focal's again...)
Amps: same here...
THanks for any help..
System looking to put together: Component system (midranges, 6.5 inchers, tweeters) / (8" for bass response=multiple) / (10" for "thump"=multiple) powered by a good amp system... (target price just for these things = under 3000 shipped
THanks for any help.. (other things I plan to include are not in the 3000 price limit...this includes equalizers/lcd's/whatever else)

I have boston pro series components, 2 12" infinity perfect subs, and 2 rockford amps and i love em. Sending the signal through a rockford punch X crossover and each amp has a audiobahn cap giving it power. No compaints yet except for slight deafness
For my current setup I have a JL audio 300/4 amp to power my JL XR 5 1/4 componets (Front) and JL XR Coaxial 6 1/2 (Rear). For bass I have a JL 500/1 amp to power two JL10W3's in a sealed box. I really like the way this setup sounds.
I'm going by what I've heard from this board and friends who are into car audio:
Component speakers: MB Quart, Boston Acoustics, Infinity Kappa Perfect, Polk, Focal
Subwoofers: Cerwin Vega, Image Dynamics, JL Audio, Kicker
Amps: Xtant, PPI, Phoenix Gold

I would have to agree with FOCAL components. They are some of the best I have everheard. Also MB Quart and Diamond Audio
For Subs: Infinity Kappa Perfects and JL Audio
Sorry I don't know any amps off the top of my head.
Good luck

Hey thanks guys...after seeing some of your posts, my friend actually took me to some audio shop in southern california (I wish I had paid attention to where he was taking me because I have no clue where the hell it was..I just know it was in the area of Long Beach somewhere...??? Perhaps some of you would know..I dunno)...
In any case: I got to listen to some of these names, but not all of them were there... They had Mb Quart Components (the Q series sounded pretty good, and it had even better imaging and precision when mated with the kick-panel thingy (whatever it is called...it is a speaker enclosure in the car).. I then listened to the Polk MoMo's..I felt that they "hit harder" than the Mb quart, but the clarity was slightly less distinguished...it took about 20min of listening to hardcore drum/bass/trance type music to realize that certain notes were muddled somewhat...it could have been the amps fault...Pheonix Gold was being used on the Momo's...and something else (supposedly better) for the MB Quart..I dunno what it was though..
I also noted that an audio system sounds noticeably (sp?) better in a 3-way setup than in a 2-way. (Having a tweeter, a midrange 4" cone, and a 6 1/2" speaker is clearly smoother transitionally than just the speaker and the tweeter...) I have also noted that Having the 3-way with a pair of 8" "mid-subs" in the back smooths out the frequency band even more...In addition to that, having the actual 10's (the REAL subs) in the trunk to top it off is the ULTIMATE for me...
They had some 10" subs...they were ORION brand (he had me listen to the HCCA because he thought I would be impressed by them)...I was impressed, but they were too damn LOUD...Those things were being fed about 1200w for some wierd reason, and they were frickin' [H]ard...holy ****...However, I liked the AudioBahn Alum10x subs better because they played the notes with better imaging overall while still providing more than enough thump for me...
I really wanted to listen to the focal's, but they either never had them...or they were out of stock or coming soon... (I say this because I did see some Focal signs all over)...
All of this was sampled in a 94 integra...
and then a 01 accord coupe...and finally, a frickin' camaro (somewhat new...not sure what year)...The accord sounded the best as his was the "balanced" car with all the transitional speakers...what a well balanced frequency band I tell ya! Best Audio I've ever heard...
These were the cars of the guys who worked there, so I guess if you know them, they let you listen or something..
Thanks for all the help...that was my experience...so far...I plan to try and find other places to listen (hopefully in store and not in a car through "KNOWING SOMEONE") If anyone knows of a good place in Southern Cali...please tell..

If you don't mind buying used items you can put together an excellent SQ system for around $3k. Look around for a shop that does custom kick panel enclosures and ask if they have a template already made for your car. If not you can get by with the cheaper prefabricated plastic ones but whatever you do high end components are not meant to be placed into doors. I'd say Focal components with JL subs and Soundstream class A amps are the way to go.
