help with stereo
Ok, here is what happened. I was driving home from work and hit a pot hole (i wasn't going very fast since I was stuck in traffic) and all of a sudden my stereo shuts off including the amp. I have a lowered car so it was a nice little bump. After I got home I looked at it and checked a few things like fuses and turned the car on and the stereo came on but none of the speakers where working, only the subwoofer. Turned it off, then back on again later and again nothing comes on. Would anyone know the cause of this? Im not a fan of driving in total silence.
few things
1. Is the amp that powers the rest of your speaks getting power? I'd grab a voltmeter and see what's going on there.
Depending on what happens w/ that and you're getting power then I'd probably look at your RCA connectors at deck and amp and make sure they've got a good connection
Also check your turn-on lead to your amps.....if you've got multiple amps the turn-on lead from deck will be spliced and maybe something happened at the splice.

If only the sub is working and the rest of the speakers are not and they are powered by the HUs internal amp or a separate amp then the sub then I would guess you have a shorted out speaker or speaker lead and the HUs internal amp or the high-pass amp driving them has gone into protection mode.
Shorting speaker terminals on aftermarket speaker installed in Honda/Acura doors is a common problem.
If you have front and rear speaker fade all the way to the rear speakers, turn HU off for a few sec. then turn it back on, what happens?
A MM&Y of car would help, we can only assume it is a 96 Integra GSR.
Makes and models of HU speakers, high-pass amp, [if you have one] sub and sub amp may also help.
