Ok I've had my car since last October and until yesterday i had a stock tape player and stock speakers, weird for an installer huh. anyway i got the pioneer deh-880prs and now im looking at speakers, I've narrowed it down to infinity reference components in the front and reference coax. in back or alpine type r components in front and type r coax. in back, going in a 94 integra. Im leaning towards the type R's. anyone have insight?
p.s if anyones looking for a deck id recommend the 880prs. its the same as the really high end decks pioneer makes but has an old school look to it. looks great in Honda's with white gauges too, all the buttons can be changed to white.

Either set will work well, the Infinity are probably a little more efficient but the Alpine can handle more power.
For the rear find some mid-bass drivers or disable the tweeters on anything you put back there.

or don't put anythign back there and put that money towards an amp for your front speakers or a better component set.

get two pairs of memphis mc6's and they will blow you away i guarantee it i sell over 25 pairs a week
Get the Infinity KAPPA perfects, if you are going to get components. OR.... get the infinity KAPPA coax 3-ways if your going to get coax.
no need in saving 20 bux a set when you could have the best... unless the 3ways dont fit

i got some free ones from best buy when i bought my ALPINE deck..... i think there dual brand.... but neways, they are already blown out and it wasnt even worth putting them in.

infinty sucks so does alpine go with memphis i put over 25 differnt pairs of speakers in my wall in my sound room with the same amp same eq settings same everything and if i switch back and forth between the memphis and any other brand i guarantee you will be blown away and for m.a.p. price of 120 a pair you can not beat them

yeah but i can get components front and coax rear type r or infinity ref. at a discount. i get both pairs for less than the cost of the components retail. unless you wanna hook me up with the memphis speakers at cost.

Although not a bad speaker, Both the Infinity and the Alpine speakers are far better then the Memphis speakers, I have worked with all 3 brands.

if you think infinity is better than memphis than you have a huge lack of experience, i dont knoe about you but i have been the head installer/manager of SOUNDS GOOD in CT for the past 6 years, and if you havent noticed that memphis has been rated number one in over 20 catagories for the past three years running and they are ontop of JL/ALPINE/ECLIPSE and stillwater, infinty is not even in the top five in any of those topics, not to mention memphis is only a two way speaker and it out performs three and four ways, but like i said what do i knoe, i am goin off of experience not word of mouth or numbers

JL/Alpine/Eclipse
dont come to mind when looking for speakers
certain companies make things better than others
so that overall survey doesnt mean anything but whats popular
JL/alpine/eclipse
they just dont come to mind when talking about speakers
if were talking amps & subs then they're automatic

How many different brands of product have you actually used? I hate to burst your bubble but Memphis is not that great. I would much rather have a set of Pioneer, Alpine or Infinity coax's instead of Memphis. Don't go on and assume that only the equipment you use is the best.

pioneer!!!! are you kidding me? i would stick with stock over them, i have tried every pair of pioneer coax alpine coax jl coax one kind of mb quart but i forgot which one, anyway your rite its all in personal opinion, but when i listen to a coax i want FULL mids and HIGH tweets, and if i switch over the two kinds of speakers on the wall with the same settings and amp the memphis are mind blowing, im not trying to sell this guy speakers but i just knoe what my ears hear. i have about 30 trophies for SQ and SPL and im very experinced

As for the 15-MC6, nothing like an aluminum dome tweeter to turn milk sour, but then again, the mid. has a carbon fiber cone, so it must be good, bling bling.
So tell me, what do you think is out there that is better then the Memphis MC6?

Having a soft/silk dome tweeter makes a HUGE difference is SQ.

i had a set of old alpine type r's for about 2 years and they wre great for the money. i eventually outgrew them and have a set of cdt's on the way.
im a big fan of alpine and the type r's did not disapoint me. i am however, only 19 and lack experience. fcm's advice has never failed me though.
