im thinking about gettin 2 15 or 2 12 inch spl subs, i dunno how good they are , they are on ebay

theres the 12 i want, i want 2, and will make the ported box it needs w/ a little help from you guys, i dont know how to make a ported box. any opinions on this setup since you didnt like the last one i thought of?

 

based on the other brands he's selling (audiovox, pyramid, bulldog, lanzar....) i'd have to say it's not going to be of great quality... actually the price alone sorta tells me that

 

Don't buy a sub that you cannot find t/s parameters for. For 160 you can get some descent subs also.

Okay for the record....A sub that is truly designed for SPL
will suck donkey ***** if you try to play *normal* music.
The reason is that by its design,its frequency response is limited
to the 40hz-80hz range....which is great for SPL.

Look...the group has given you great ideas,wheter you follow them is
up to you. My advice has been based on two factors: Experience in the industry
( well over 10 years) and experience with that car ( I own one ). If you want
to be a *ghetto superstar* and rock the block any of the following configs will
work great ( 2- 12"s 3 -12"s 2-15"s 1 18"s ) with that amp and sealed box.
If you wanna be truly sick...do 2-12"s or 1 15" in a vented enclosure.

The choice is yours....and you have to live with the decision.

 

i understand what your saying completely, now im asking you what are good subs to do that with? i was thinking about going 2/ the L7s again but i dunno, should i get L5s or L7s, i can get 2 of either on ebay but the L5s are cheaper. what are some other good subs i could use for this? i want to make a ported enclosure for the L7s (theyre 12s) but ill need some help from you, you sound like you know what your doing. o, would a jbl1200.1 amp be good enough for 2 12 inch L7s?

 

Finally some respect ...J/K. The amp you have is great..and a wonderfull
resource for the subs you want to use is Kickers own web site. They have a
slot port design for the 12" L5 that would work quite well ( or if you want do an L7).
Now off hand I dont remember if the JBL amps have infrasonic filters on them or
not (they are great amps...lots of bang for the buck..heck I sold enough of them to
get a leather jacket from JBL sweet)..but you will need one. Just follow the
design they have and in no time you'll be thumping along.

PS....get the alarm before you rebuild your system....an entry level system will do
as protection...our cars are relatively easy to do. I do advice adding a pin switch
to the hood ( its a must on our cars) and asking the installer to hide the brain
in a less obvious spot ( If you want some ideas pm me). You can even add keyless
entry quite easy to it as well. A basic system should run about $200-250 installed.
