Default Headunit Problems

Hey guys, recently i installed an old school Honda/Dolby cassette deck for my car it has an equalizer port and is connected to my equalizers. When you turn up the volume you get static but it goes away once you finish turning it up; another problem it has is when i push the clutch in the volume goes up by about 30-40%
I'm an idiot when it comes to wiring stereos but i'm sure i wired it up fine triple checked the diagram on my harness and the diagram on the headunit.

Sounds like a dirty volume pot, it can be cleaned but you will need to remove and get to the internals, electrical contact cleaner is the trick. The clutch thing........I have NO idea.
