Default Got a problem! Help!

I just wired up my system in my car. I have a Pioneer DEH-P600 Deck, and it has sub control. I connected the remote wire (goes to the amp) to the back of the deck where it had a single wire called "remote", but when i try to turn off the subs, they are still on! I cant seem to turn it off with my deck! Can someone help me out? Is there another wire that i can hook it onto?

Sounds like either you have a bad remote wire from the radio that still has power when the radio is turned off, or your amp turn on circuit is bad.....disconnect the remote wire from the radio and see if the sub amp is still on. If it stays on, it's the amp, if it goes off then it's something with the turn on ciruit in the radio...

if it's new, return it for another one, if it's not new, and you don't want to buy a new one, you can either have it repaired. or connect the amp turn on wire to the ignition switch. The the amp will turn on whenever the key is on. Better then nothing

Now wait a minute? Are you turning off the radio when you say your trying to turn off the subs? The remote wire simply turns on and off with the head unit for power antennas or amps.
Some head units such as my Eclipse you can turn the subs level up and down, but not the amps on and off.

haha i think Lud is right on this one. the remote wire is just to turn on and off your amps when you turn your deck on. The sub control is a + or - setting to give you more or less bass. that is controlled by the RCA's. read your manual and it'll tell you how to turn the totally off (on my alpine its hold the eject button for 3 secs)
