Default Good Deal?

Hey guys, I'm going to a car stereo/alarm place to get an alarm for my car. Since I'll be going back to school soon i just want something which would make it difficult for the numerous thieves around school to steal deck/wheels from me. I went into the store today and the guy said he could to $219 for some clifford alarm (not sure of the model, the guy said it was you could upgrade it though) which had some "dual impact sensor"? and keyless entry and the window rolling up thing. Is this a good deal? What kind of alarm would you recommend for a car parked right outside my apartment and on campus during the day? Thanks for any info.

Get an alarm with:
Shock sensor
two or more kill circuts (ignition, fuel, etc...)
hood pin
PAGEING SYSTEM

Brand names mean nothing, installation means EVERYTHING.

And buy two sets of wheel locks.

Good luck.

two sets of wheel looks...damn why didn't I think of that?
Brilliant!!!!!
I shall purchase two sets immediately after I buy my rims

Btw, Where can I get alarms installed and know that I can trust them?
I was thinking of a ignition cutter sold in this website: http://www.12voltshop.com/interrupt.asp
They're supposed to prevent thieves from hotwiring your car.
Think its good?

I take the view of that if someone want it bad enough, they will take it no matter what. Along that line, get the basic alarm. The blinking red light that make them choose another car is half the battle.

Features I would consider a side from the basic would be ignition disabler, and battery backup. If you got power locks, maybe they can wire that up with the remote.

Cliford is a good alarm manufacturer, but for $219, you're going to get a crappy install and your alarm will probably be stuffed under the dash. basically, install, install, install... You don't want a poorly installed alarm to give you nothing but headaches and end up loosing your car.

And a mechanical hoodlock, extra siren outside and in the interior.
