Getting new system
I'm not much of an audio person, but my tape player and 2 blown speakers have got to go. I didn't get very much under the tree this year, because my parents told me I could get this for my car. My budget should be somewhere around $250-$300. The cd player I figure is around $130-$150. The rest are the 4 speaker in teh front and rear. What are the best cd players and speakers for this price? I'm not much on sound as you can tell. I just want something that sounds better than what I have.
An Alpine or Pioneer head unit would be my choice. Look into Pioneer and Polk speakers. For the price they don't sound too bad.
Are you looking to make a nice system or just something that plays music?

I went in today and got a $200 Blaupunkt head unit and 4 eclipse speakers. That was above and beyond what I was expecting. This is one of the best Christmas presents ever. My friend said Eclipse is up there in quality.

I dont know about the blaupunkts too much as the only one i've heard didnt sound good at all.
I know that Pioneer isnt really that "up there" with alpine and eclipse...but IMO its a very good deck that you can get for the money.
