fm reception
 
i have a honda crv 2012 mk3, always had a bad fm signal, i have recently fitted an after market head unit, pioneer double din unit but signal still rubbish.
any ideas?

Check wiring ... antenna disconnected or so.

Look into buying an aftermarket power antenna.

Metra makes one that you can mount on the windshield.

This isn't a bad idea.

Most of the time the antenna is routed from the head unit through the driver's A-Pillar. Attach a thick wire to the end of the antenna before you pull it through, and check if everything looks good on the antenna, and/or replace it or upgrade. Attaching that wire is critical when you start pulling it though though, or you will have one BITCH of a time fishing the wire back down the A-Pillar into the interior.

I've used this antenna with good results.

Metra Part # 44-UA200 | Aftermarket Antenna | Metra Online

Mount it on the windshield behind the rear view mirror.

Amplified antenna is the best solution
