So I feel dumb for asking this but I'm finishing up installing a CD player in my EG hatch and it comes with a small flat metal bar to bend and drill somewhere to secure it and I was wondering how/where everyone else secures their cd player in their hatch because right now it will just slide out if you push it from the back.

 

thats how i always leave my cd players. makes for easy access later on

 

I have the din "cage" in the dash but the cd player doesn't secure into the cage well, it did when I took it out of the box, but when I took the cage off the cd player and put it into the dash then put the cd player back in it still slides out, so I was wondering if I need a new cage where can I get one, are they all the same or what?

 

A metal strap bolted to the cd player at one end and bolted to the anchoring point of the stock tape deck is your best bet..its never going to sit perfectly.

But honestly, you're going to need to get behind it at some point in time and these measures are just going to make the whole process really frustrating.

 

Mount it to the same place as stock HU is mounted, [rear support brace] Honda, in their great wisdom, put a hole in the center of the rear brace so installing a rear support bracket for aftermarket HUs is easy as pie.

Bend the strap into an "L" bracket so it is level with the bottom of your HU, a blot/screw through the rear support bracket into the L bracket will support/brace your aftermarket HU.
