Default dynomatting sidepanels...?

has anyone gotten their sidepanels dynomatted (extreme)? if so, was it worth it? and what other parts of your car have gotten dynomatted?

I did everything but the roof, and it was worth it. It wouldn't be if I used dynamat though, that stuff costs an arm and a leg.

I have a 1997 civic hx, and I covered nearly my whole back end in dynomat extreme.

I removed all panels and the rear seat. I drove it around to see how loud it was. It was loud.

I then used dynomat extreme and covered nearly every inch, then drove it around. There was a difference, but not a $300 difference.

Then I went out and filled my rear quarterpanels with Great Stuff I think it is (The insulating foam they use on houses when they drill holes from the outside to the inside through vinyl or brick). For about $20 I was able to fill both quarter panels, that did 5x what the dynomat did, and probably weighed about the same.

I then went to put my rear interior back in, but had to stop and see a movie first. When I got out of the movie, my car was gone . So I never got to test it with the interior in. I'd have to say the canned foam insulation from home depot is a better product than dynamat.

Dynomat and foam do two different things. Dynamat is designed to deaden panels so they don't vibrate. The foam is designed to dampen sound which can be used for road noise.

Peel & seel is too narrow, look for something wider if your going to be doing large areas. You'll need several rolls of this if your planning on going all out. $$$$

narrow as far as thin? or narrow as far as width?

they well it:
9 x 33 1/2
12 x 33 1/2
18 x 33 1/2
and I also think the guy said they have a roll larger than that..the 18 x 33 1/2 is 61.50 a roll....still pretty decent

Narrow in width. The roll that I have is only 6 inches, and I've never seen a wider one. Most other materials come in atleast 1 foot wide rolls.

ahhh ok yeah the roofing supply company by me has the rolls in different widths

I am thinking of buying it in the 18 x 33 1/2 rolls

should make it easier since the sheets are wide...any wider and I think I would end up with a lot of scraps when cutting

Sounds good to me. You'll need a few scraps anyways.

I bought peel & seal in a 12" wide roll. They also offer 4" width for seams. I found 12" width to be easy to work with.

You revived a pretty old post, but to answer your question peel and seal is not worth using
