I was wondering if Alpine has or is going to have an MP3 add on, or something i can daisy chain to my AI-net changer.. i have a CDA-7969 head unit which is very nice (IMO)..
i dont want to replace it yet w/ a new deck so i was wondering if there was an add on or something where i can play mp3s.. is there a unit i can daisy chain to my changer? (cha1214)..
im pretty happy with my equipment just want to play mp3s w/o having to have a portable mp3 player in my glovebox.. so ghetto hahah any insigt would be appreciated

Alpine's new changer, the CHA-S634 would be good for you. It's a 6 disc that reads MP3. I beleive you can daisy chain multiple Alpine changers.
cool thanks = ).. i've been waiting for this.. is it out yet? how much does it cost? so as long as my deck has AI-Net it will work right? I have a CDA-7969
Don't know yet. We'll get the Alpine pricing within the next few days. I researched one model though just because I was interested. The high model CDA-7998 in dash 1.3 DIN faceplate, BioLite display, MP3 etc. That puppy's wholesale is $550.00......retail $850.00
thats a whole new deck though right? since its CDA.. thats a CD deck right? i dont really want a new deck since i just bought my CDA-7969 recently... i have been waiting for an add on MP3 changer (i already have the CHA-1214).. ... thanks for your input though...

Yeah, it is a whole new deck. I was just mentioning it for anyone who is inerested. The changer I referred to earlier has the MP3 capability. If your interested you can contact me at my work and I can put you on a list for the first shipment.
depends how much it costs.. oh yeah how would i daisy chain it to my existing changer? its AI-net.. is there a kit or cable i have to get?
Sorry, I don't have the price on it just yet. I should have that in the next few days, maybe a week. I honestly don't know how/if it can be daisy chained. You can ask Alpine that at (800) ALPINE-1.
Yes, the changer (CHA-S634) is Ai-Net.
