Default DEI 501T - Battery Replacement

I think my back-up battery is a goner...

It suffered a full discharge not too long ago, and i don't think it can hold a charge any more... and the cold weather isn't helping.

Cause my door lock actuators don't work, unlocking the car remotely...

but when i start the car, they lock, and when i turn of the ignition it unlocks >.> so the wiring is good...

also i can lock the car remotely... after i just turned off my car that is...

I think, i don't remember, I wired the lock actuators to the back-up line.
Which explains why they don't work when you remotely lock/unlock...

So is there a way i can just get the battery replacement? or would i have to buy the whole 501T?

Cause the battery they use is a common battery, i've seen it used for a UPS...

oh yeah, i dunno what the battery model is >.>

I would just get a similar rated UPS battery. Then re-wire those actuators
I'm using a battery about twice the size of the stock 501T unit now.

never thought of using a larger battery....

yeah, i have to fix the actuator wiring... tho it would've been harder to tell that the back-up batt died, if it wasn't wired like that >.>

just gets annoying, cause i have to use a key on a keyless ~_~

how many volts is the stock back-up battery?

cause the voltage needs to stay the same, not the size...

i guess it would be 12v.. since the car is 12v... >.>

So i went searching for em:

I think this is the direct stock replacement: http://www.atbatt.com/product/3538.asp

But i think this is a better deal: http://www.atbatt.com/product/3516.asp

This is another: http://www.atbatt.com/product/3575.asp

i'm already considering shipping into it...

you said you are using one that is 2x the size... i think the stock is like .6-8Ah so are you running a 1.2ah?

I ended up purchasing the 1.2 Ah cause its cheaper than the regular stock replacement.. stock would be 20+6 for shipping compared to 16+6 for shipping.
