deck security
i kno theres no real way to keep them from stealing your deck if they get into your car, and i kno theres ways to slow them down. i heard somewhere to use all different screws to slow them down, so what else are you guys doing to secure your decks. i heard about something called a backstrap or something like that and i couldnt find it when i searched
You notice how when you buy a deck there is a threaded hole in the center of the back of the radio. The radio come whith a screw that fits this hole. Use a back strap, which comes with most radios its the strip of metal with a bunch of holes in it, use the scre provided to secure one end of the back strap to the deck and then secure the other end to somthing solid in the car once the radio has been mounted.

oo i get it, so the back strap will be a pain in the *** to get unscrewed if they're stealing it, like its hard to get tools in that small space to unscrew a backstrap

yeah pretty much, if you do it right the deck wont budge even a little bit. The thief would have to disassemble a bunch of panels and what not to find the other end of the back strap and get the screw out. This can be bad in the sense that the thief may do a bunch more damage to your car trying to remove the radio than radio even cost you to begin with.

Ditto that, if you want the CD transports suspension to work properly you need to install a proper back support.
