.....Compustar 2WSS-AS question....
Does the Compustar 2WSS-AS work for both automatic and manual transmissions?...or is there a specific version for manual and a specific version for auto's? I am having a hard time finding the Compustar 2WSS-AS for a manual transmission. The ones that I find on ebay say that it is for auto's only. Even though they state that it is for automatics, can it still be used on a manual transmission? Does it make a difference? Thanks!
All Compustar remote starts work on both standard and automatic transmission cars, they all come "programed" for standard transmissions, you cut a jumper for automatic transmissions, see jumper just above DP1 and DP2 on wiring diagram...

The ones you see on eBay are recalls, recall and sold for salvage, they had a glitch in the reservation mode, [for standard transmission] so Compustar recalled the defective ones, sold them for salvage of parts, buyer turns around and sells them on eBay as for automatic transmission only models.
BTW eBay is not where you want to buy an alarm, you do not know what you are getting, [recalled, refurbs, or even fakes] and you will have no manufacturers warranty or support.

Not necassarily true. I purchased one of these so called alarms from a member on this forum and it was indeed set to only an automatic or manual. It took me over 5 months to sort the issue out and get the correct alarm. By that time I had the correct alarm I had no use for the alarm.
Make sure you buy one that is specific to your needs.

</TD></TR></TABLE>Then the member is cutting the loop or he got a special order from Compustar, the chain I worked at did that, and got a Compustar for manual transmissions only, loop was not installed, it was a trace on the circuit board instead, I have cut the trace to make it for an automatic more then a few times, [customer gets new car].
Jumper Wire
On Uncut: Manual Transmission
Off Cut: Automatic Transmission

My understanding was this is what he thought as well. But it turned out to not be the case. I think Compustar just ships out what they have at that momment.
My only comment here was for the OP to make sure that this loop is there before purchasing the alarm. Insist that the person you buy it from take it out of the box and look. Compustar is extremely slow at getting units returned back to you.

Maybe it's a USofA thing, all Compustar remote starts we get come with loop, [or trace] intact, for standard transmission application, we have to cut the loop, [or dremel the trace] for automatic transmission application.
Even when you check the site, there is no model number for one that is for an auto and another one for standards, the brains are the same, with factory default for standards
