Brake Lock - What is it?
What is it? Is it the club like devise that hooks between the steering wheel and the brake? I don't think so. Here is the description:
"You slide the lock over the top of the brake and down to the floor. It locks up your break, making it just about impossible to drive your car."
It cost about $40. That's all I know.
Anyone know more? Got a pic?
Thanks

It keeps you from being able to apply the brakes or maybe steer. Not that you can't cut the wheel as usual, or use the parking brake.

That's it. The description sounds like it. It was recommended to by a police officer, so I figure I'll look into it. Does anyone know if there is a "Brand X" version that cost less? $59.00 is a bit high.
It's just another variation of the club, it ratchets up against the brake pedal preventing movement. That one might have a stronger alloy to resist cutting, but 'the club' brand was shown to be able to be shattered with a nitrogen blast.
True.
If they can break into my car, beat the alarm, and cut the club, all while being quick enough where they don't draw attention, they should get to take the car.
I don't know, it more for my peace of mind. I will look to see if there are Brand X versions.

It's been a long time since I have seen one but you can also buy a different kind of brake lock. The one I seen is you push on the brake then turn a key and the brakes stay locked. Kind of like a line lock used on muscle cars when they want to roast their tires. Haven't seen one of these for a long time, haven't looked though either.
