Default Which is better?

I called a few places and they would install these type of alarms for this price.
Compustar for aound $400, but the guy sounded shady on the phone, another place said the Viper 690 for $499 and the 790 for $599, whats the difference between them and which is better and that same place said they also have the matrix 3.5, but he didnt give a price. Which would be better? I do plan on adding other stuff, and one of the guys said the backup battery siren is a waste and only last about 30sec. Is that true?

I'll take the time to learn and do it yourself. This won't be the last alarm you will have to install. Better save yourself some money
