Again this will be biased and based on opinions, the listener, and set up. I personally prefer AlumaPro components (6.2 comps.) and there are many good ones out there. As far as Audiobahn IMO
it all depends on what your ear feels. Everyone is biased, go down to your local stereo shop and listen.
Some good brands that I like,
for high end: MB Quart Q, Rainbow Pro, Focal Utopia.... there's other but these are personal preference
mid end: CDT HD, Diamond Hex, Focal Polykevlar, Mb Quart Premium, Alpine X, dynaudio... many others but you'll have to hear to make your decision.
low mid end: Diamond M, Focal Polyglass, Polk, JL Evo, dynaudio, Infinity Perfect, Kicker resolution, and that about all I've let my ears hear.
low end, sorry don't subject my ears to torture(probably why you don't see fosgate anywhere here lol)..
I have quart QSD 216s in my wifes car with a nak deck, nak amps, and quart 8's in the rear deck that sounds sweet as hell for the low volume folks.
I had cdt-642dtms in my car, but had an amp go on the fritz and took the cdts with it, I reverted to kicker RS-6s for now, just been too lazy to go out and find some new toys, plus I'm not sure how much longer I'm keeping my car. The kickers well, they're worth the money they were and that's about it, they play music, kindof, nothing fantastic. The CDT's were great, I'm not sure if it was the kickpanels I had them in or, just the drivers themselves, but they were some of the best speakers I've ever heard in that price range. Really good stuff, they just don't take too kindly having an amp burp through them
Hope that gives you some ideas, but the best advice ever is to go listen for yourself, and make your own decisions, don't do car audio to please others. You'll never win

yea, audiobahn is some sorry pieces of crap. i like diamond audio, only the hex series, but thats just me, just try to go to a place that has a lot on display for u listen to. if ur in socal i can refer u to a great place that will hook u up if u mention that i reffered u there
i personally like focal polykevlar 165k2.
not too pricey not too bad...real great sounds! Besides audiobahn
horrible customer service, they also have horrible equipment.
that is just my opinion. MB Quarts PSD series isnt too bad either. If you're hardcore
go for utopia from focal!!!

if it was my car i'd put in either MB Quart or Boston Acoustics...they are higher end and you will be spending more money, however, there will be a noticble difference in the crispness and quality of sound.

Well, that is the same deck that I currenctly have in my civic. If don't plan to get an amp, and are looking to get a sub, go with the Alpine R-type, they are not too expensive and they have great high frequency response, the low frequency is lacking so you would need a sub if you like much bass. Infinity Kappa's again not to pricey but tolerable quality. My recomendation are the R-types, if you have more money upgrade to the X-types ($500)
are you planning on putting an amp on the new speakers or not. the type of speaker you get would be very different from one case to another. well built speakers usually have higher power ratings, and if you don't amp them your sound quality will only go so far. if you are not going to put an amp on the speakers, try to find a higher quality brand, ie Focal,MB quartz, or Boston Acustics. make sure you check the power handling and that it is not to much power. Also remember that aftermarket decks generally only put out 10-15 watts of power RMS per channel. best of luck !!
