Default battery sizing matter?

Alright so I got a alpine mrp-350 and a kenwood kac-8405 4 channel amp, I was wondering if I would be able to run a smaller battery than a 51r, for example a pc680 or a kinetic hc600 and not have the battery die on me? The only reason I want a smaller battery is so I can move it from the stock location and put my catch can there and run the pwjdm battery relocate or something similar.

I ran an XsPower D975 on a 2500 watt setup with no issues. You'd be fine with something like a D680 from XSPower

Hey sorry for the late reply. The D series isn't made for under hood applications. The S series has a thicker case so it handles heat better, which is why it's a little more expensive

The only difference between the s680 and d680 is the color and the s680 comes with top posts instead of screws, if you're worried about heat they sell a wrap for them, no thicker case on any of their products. Also if you're going to be only running that one battery don't forget to do the big 3, crucial upgrade when running 2 amps on the weak electrical our honda's have.

You can get away with just a bigger alt charge wire and battery ground. I've never upgraded my engine ground and haven't had any issues or much voltage drop.

OP, what engine are you running? 2005+ Odyssey's have a 130A alt. if you are the very least bit handy with tools, they work on single cams. I've had one on my 2000 accord, 99 civic, and 94 civic. That alternator alone would be plenty for just those 2 amps and can be had for $30 at junkyards
