Default Audio system recommendation

Hey fellas well my birthday coming up and decided to treat my self this year by upgrading my audio system in the car now my knoweldge is not the greatest when it comes up to audio or kept up with the current market so i came to you guys for the help.

-Now my limit is about 600 dollars (the less the better)

Car: 2000 Civic coupe Si

-My current system is:
Deck: Alpine's iDA-X001

Speakers: Alpine Type-R SPR-17LP all around but only have two working one in the front passanger and one in the rear this due to having my car in the shop for over a year constantly taking them out to get to other things probably got wet etc. but even when they all worked wasnt to excited about them. plus they must be discontinued by now

-Bass- Is 1 kicker 10 inch Kicker DCVR10 COMP does the job never want to much bass.amp cant remember amp from top of my head but its 2ch

Now what i want is:

To change out all the 4 speakers. Im keeping the Deck and the sub and the amp.

So i want you guys to recommend a nice setup that wil have clear/deep sounding with the price range above. And im guessing i will have to get another 4ch amp to amp these new speakers due to the current deck not putting out enough power? also if you guys can recomend me a site to buy all this for a nice price i see ebay sellers have descent deals on product but there might be places i dont know about

Thanks fellas and happy new year

Here are my favourites:

Head Unit: Pioneer (I wouldn't have anything else in this category)
Speakers: Infinity or Alpine
Amplifiers: Audiobahn or US Amps
Subwoofers: Infinity or Alpine

Replace the speakers with Eclipse SP6510... http://eclipse-web.com/us/point/sp6910_6510.html and get a 4x75W RMS amp, the JL Audio 300/4v2... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=437 will do the job.

When buying car audio, buy only from authorized dealers, not doing so to save a few $$ will only cost you in the end.94

I have this set of MB Quart components (front) in my Del Sol. For what I paid for them, they are perfect for my application. As for the rear quarter panels, I kept the 5 1/4" Alpine coaxials. Amp wise....I would suggest getting an older model Alpine (e.g. 3527s) four channel to run your door speakers. I am sure you can find those used amps for a great price through eBay.

I wouldn't be laughing at Audiobahn...especially for someone who is using a HiFonics amp. I'm sure yours is not the classic model either.

You can remote mount the tweeters of the SP6510, they are removable, you would remove the tweeters on the rear speakers anyway, you do not want highs behind you.

^^^^^^^^^^ Sorry, my mistake, you can no longer remove the tweeters on the Eclipse Point Source speakers.
See if you can find the Eclipse SP6500.

Infinity also makes a pretty good speaker as does Alpine and JL Audio. 94

want my kappa components, i've only used them for about a month?? 110 shipped and their yours...

that jl amp is bad-*** by the way. I personally run an alpine f-450 which is another good choice.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+MRP-F450.html

I've always used infinity speakers, i heard cdt's and pioneer premiers are pretty good for the money. woofersetc.com is having a clearance on cdt speakers too

To be honest, I've used Hifonics door speakers w/o an amp right now and they're definitely sound better than many "Top" name brand speakers I have heard.
If you're looking for pretty good deals on car audio I use www.onlinecarstereo.com quite often.

For the subs go with 2 alpine type e and a alpine amp. The alpine amps seem to push out the most RMS. Sometimes when they put the RMS rating on an amp its not fully true. Alpine is the best. Go with something that matches with the total RMS rating on the two subs. When I first bought a system I went to Alpine. 2 12" Type E, 1 Alpine Amp, 1 Dual Sub Box, all for around $600. Check on ebay. You can get the same setup and other subs for half price on there sometimes! I bought 2 alpine type X that are supposed to be $500 a piece and I got 2 brand new ones for just over $500!

You may not like my preferences, but like I said, they are my favourites, not necessarily the best. I have had NO issues whatsoever with my 3-4 year old Audiobahn A8000T. It's been running in 2 ohm mono the entire time, too. Not too shabby.

I recommend based on experience, not on what I read in a magazine.

As do I and I guess I haven't had the same good experience with audiobahn that you have. To me it just seemed like they focused more on the chrome than on the sound...

Ok so i got my system

For amp:

i got the JL Audio 300/4v2 . . Got really lucky with this just happened that my buddy had it and he recently had a break in his car they stole his system but he had the amp left and since he decided to sell the car he gave me the amp for $175 and is pretty much brand new

For the Speakers i got:

Front: INFINITY KAPPA 62.9I
Rear: Infinity Kappa 692.9

And as stated before head unit is:
Alpine's iDA-X001

Sub:

Is 1 kicker 10 inch Kicker DCVR10 COMP

so hopefully this does me good i should have installed next week or so depending on the weather since im doing it outside

if it were me i would have a component set in the front...
front: mb quarts ..dls .. diamond audio or something good...
rear same as manufacturer as the fronts
a 4 ch amp to run them..
for sub one 12 is good enough and to run that ill go with a mono block..
stinger battery & isolator setup is the way to go...
for amp i would try to get the amp thats made for the speakers..
but if budget wont allow... save up till u can get something remotely decent...

Wooferetc.com has CDT 08 models on clearance, you could do a nice 2 way setup, they sound awesome, but some are rated a little high but I dont think youll be sending 160 rms to them, but yea nice 2 way CDT!
