I ended up selling my old Profile amp to a buddy. I've had this amp for give or take 3 years and think I got more than I paid for it new although not 100% sure on that. http://www.crutchfield.com/App...p=115
Thats what I had and sold him. I am powering 2 12" Infinity subs with it.
Anyway I figured I traded a 3 year old amp for a brand new one that is probably better anyway. This is the amp I got.

Anyone used it? How is it? I know it's a little too late to be asking now but it seemed to get good reveiws. Just looking for anyone thats used it. How was it? I kind of wanted a 600watt rms amp as the subs are rated for 300 watts rms but my Profile did fine with these subs and the next step up seems to be a 1000 watt amp which I didn't need nor did I want the price of. That was with Alpine anyway. I know I didn't have to stick with Alpine but thats who makes me 4 channel amp that powers my speakers. I kind of wanted them to match. Anyway I'm pretty stoked about this. Anyone used this? Good or bad?

it is a better amp than the profile i can tell you. profile is not bad tho. they make their rated power pretty cleanly, and are durable if set up right.
Yeah I had the Profile for 3 years or so and was fairly happy with it. I just kind of had been wanting one to match my 4 channel Alpine that powers my speakers and when I got a awesome offer for my Profile I couldn't pass up selling it. I barely paid any money out of my pocket to upgrade to this amp and I went from a 3 year old one to a brand new one.
Will I be able to tell a difference SQ wise? I've never run an Alpine amp for subs just speakers and I've never run a Profile for anything but subs.
I kind of wanted a 600watt or slightly more rms amp but this one was an option and the next biggest one was 1000watts rms at 2 ohms which is what I run it at. I didn't need that much as it would way overpower the subs and it was double the price. My subs are according to Crutchfield rated at 60-300watts RMS a piece. They are 12" Infinitys. I had the 500watt rms Profile that seemed to power them fine but I like to give everything the max rms power or slightly more rather than underpower them. I just couldn't see spending double the money though for 1000watts rms when I only need 600. I'm hoping I will be happy with this amp. I'm hoping to have it tomorrow but not sure if I will or not. I can't wait.

you will notice more power with the alpine amp for sure. It is a class D amp and will be more efficient.
Also profile amps power rateings are not cea compliant like alpine.

I got this amp and got it installed tonight. For the most part I really like it. The one thing I don't like too much and I had this same issue on the 4 channel Alpine I have is how the power cables connect. It's really hard to get a 4 gauge cable in that spot then get the screw through it to screw it down. Took a little while playing with it to get it to work. The Profile has a much better design here where the wire goes in a round hole then you just tighten a screw down ontop of it. Other than that I really like this amp. It hits really hard and is pretty impressive so far. I'm liking it.

I loved my Profile amp when I had it. I had a Profile CL600M driving my 12' Alpine Type S. It never failed on me once nor overheated.
Yep I have had 2 Profiles and still have one which I think is a 320watt RMS at 2 ohms amp. It' powers a 10" Kicker Comp VR that used to be in the truck and is now in the Honda. The big amp used to power 2 12"s in the Honda which is now in the truck.
Neither amp has overheated on me and both have always been good.
I do really like this Alpine though. I think it has more power as I turned it all the way up and gain and bass boost wise and had to turn it down as I couldn't hear right for a little bit afterwards and it hurt my ears. It really hits turned down some. The buddy that bought my old amp said the gain and bass boost were all the way up on it. I couldn't remember if they were or not. This I couldn't turn that high. I normally control it from the H/U and just turn the sub down on the H/U as I don't like it that loud and with this I had to turn the amp down too. It really hits and sounds good. I'm really happy with it so far.
Not that I was unhappy with the Profile but to me I like this one a lot better. I don't know if it sounds better or if it's my imagination. I did however notice my truck has something that rattles when the bass hits I never noticed before. I haven't found it yet.

its not your imagination it is more power. And the reason it is hard to conect the 4 gauge power wires, ist that it is made to accept 8gauge. That is all it needs
It says that they recommend atleast 8 gauge. Makes it sound like 8 gauge or bigger is needed and I already had 4 gauge coming out of my distribution block. I didn't want to buy a new distribution block and wire so I make the 4 gauge work. The 4 channel Alpine amp I have is the same way. Crutchfield told me 4 gauge would work fine that you just needed atleast 8 or better. It does work with 4 gauge though it's just hard to connect. I got it though and I'm really liking this amp. After hearing mine the buddy that bought my Profile went out and bought one of these too. My 2 12" Infinity's hit way harder than his 2 15" Audio Pipes with the Profile amp. He is having a problem with his shutting off when you turn it way up. I haven't had that issue though. I think he is going to take his back. He liked the Alpine better too and he used to be a Profile fan. I really like this amp.

the thing about the power input on the alpine is like the other guy touched down on, its made for 8 gauge. but furthermore its made to be used with crimp forks. so ur not really suppose to just jam wiring into the amp. but oh well. u can use a 4 gauge crimp fork, just bend the fork so it fits the 8 gauge port
When I went to talk to Crutchfield about this when I bought the 4 channel amp they told me to talk to one of the installers so I did and he was the one that told me to just seperate the wire like that and put the screw through it. I was trying to buy some connectors that would work but any that are big enough to fit 4 gauge and I'm pretty sure even 8 guage that I've seen wont work in here. It's like it's made to accept a one that would go on a 14 gauge wire or something small. I guess an 8 gauge one might work really not sure. Anyway how I have it works. Is there a downside to having it like this? This is how the installer at Crutchfield told me to do it.
