Default Amp's

Ok I'm thinking I might get an amp and subs. I was looking at a Rockford Fosgate 2 channel amp or a Kenwood 1 channel. I know Kenwood isn't the best but since I would only turn this on sometimes as I think a lot of music sounds better without subs I want a cheaper amp but still a good one. Here were the two I was looking at which one would you guys go with or would you go with something else?

youre powering speakers or subwoofers? rms power/max power on the speakers will help us determine the answer. i have had better experience with RF though, i just dont like the sound of the kenwood.

I'm powering a sub. I'm looking at either getting a Polk Momo sub or a JL but can get the Polk a lot cheaper.

i think in your case, it would be good to run the mono amp (kenwood excelon). more rms power, and if you run a JL sub (which i prefer over the polk) then it would be pretty ideal. get a 12W0 and if its at 4 ohms, the sub should pound. or a 12W3

My only fear is that people said where he was from Kenwoods seam to wear out fast. I have heard good things about there HU though. For Speakers I would get a nicer amp probably but for a sub that I wont use all the time I Didn't know if it would be worth it. The RF amp I was thinking bridge if I got it then about the same power. I like both Polk and JL subs a lot and both get great reviews but I can get the Polk a lot cheaper so that may be the way I go.
