Amp problems. Any ideas?
So I'm not sure but I think my amp might be F'd. I was playing around with my subs seeing how far I could push them and of course I blew a fuse. I blew the fuse on the power wire. So i replace it. Obviously I'm still getting power to the amp but not the subs. I rechecked the fuse on the power wire and on the amp. All of them are fine. I checked the wiring from the deck and it's secure as well. Does anyone have any other ideas? If not I do have a 1 year "no questions asked" warranty. So I could return it. Before I do that i just want to make sure that the amp itself is the problem. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!
If you are getting proper power to the amp (check using a voltmeter) and have propper ground plus you are sure that the amp turn on wire is working and that all the fuses are good then it probably is an internal problem on the amp. Check th power, ground, amp turn on and fuses. Check the fuses with the ground feature on the voltmeter to make sure including the fuses on the amp. If all is good then return, replace and not repeat your last mistake. Good luck!

EDIT: I should mention that I have two Apline Type-R's in a sealed box.

Not an expert on amps, but the Crutchfield amp site, above, mentions safe mode and protection mode. Causes mentioned: Speaker output contacts ground, speaker wire short-circuits, unit malfunctions and DC is sent to speaker output. Don't know if this will help.
So I looked into the protect mode issue. I'll bet it's simply in protect mode. I'll have to try to mess with it tonight. Thanks for the info. I'll post up my results tonight or tomorrow.

Well I checked everything out. I'm pretty sure it's the amp. I disconnected everything from the amp then checked all the wires. Everything is good. I checked my p.connect wire running from the deck. It's solid. So I hooked everything back up accept the subs. I tested one sub on each of the two channels and nothing. So it's probably the amp. I'm not sure exactly HOW it happened. I mean, I've blown plenty of fuses in my day and never had this kind of problem. So tomorrow I'm going to return it and get a new one. Hopefully it works. Oh and I should mention I did test it with a completely different sub in addition to my 2 Alpine Type-R's. Thanks for all the help everyone!
EDIT: And I've had the system since last September.

No I didn't get it from crutchfield. But the store I bought it from has the warranty on it. So I brought it in. They're gonna test it and try to fix it. If not I get a new one. And yes I read through the manual and went to the kenwood webite. I tried everything with no luck. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
