LOL. I can't say Alpine for life as they never really won me over. I have an Alpine and a friend had one but sold it with the car and both were very nice but neither sounded as clear or were as nice as the JVC Aresonal I have. I like my Alpine a lot don't get me wrong I just like my JVC better.

Should we start taking bets on how long he keeps this one?

The only head units I like are Alpine and Eclipse. The other ones are just junk IMO and your better off keeping your stock deck.

Nice deck btw

nakamichi is a GORGEOUS deck, but hardly customizable.

Alpine makes the best bang for buck decks by FAR.

CDA-9835 HERE.

Cool someone else who knows what they are talking about.

nakamichi makes really nice decks but they are plain and simple. A lot of installers like them because of the sound quality. A really good deck for a grownup who likes jazz but not so great of a deck for young people who want a bunch of features.

I wouldn't consider pioneer a junk.

seriously, Pioneer, Clarion, Alpine, and Eclipse are the industry leaders in user-customizable head units.

but if you're using Pioneer, it must be Pioneer Premier series.

Ehh it’s hit and miss with the other companies. Even Sony makes a good deck but the majority is junk. That is what I am saying. Alpine and Eclipse decks for the most part work well and have very little problems.

with my pioneer id be changing the settings for different songs and ****

less features =

Owned 2 units so far, not a Premier series and never had a problem.

These are just eq presets from the factory. I never use them either. I guess they are there for those who don't know what's an eq or frequency.

I don't believe there is such thing like a "perfect eq setting for every single song out there". Some songs for example, have more bass in them, meaning you'd probably have to turn down the lower frequencies on your eq.

Research is the key for sure. If you want to walk into a store and pick out something pretty that you know nothing about then I would recommend Alpine, and Eclipse. If you want to get a decent Pioneer or Sony you have to get their high end stuff.

I was in the car audio business for about 5 or 6 years. Ive always swore by Alpine. Just the best period. Eclipse would be a close second, but they dont offer Satellite Radio and some other things.

Pioneer and Sony I cant stand. They put in waaaaaaaaay too many useless features and their controls suck.

And who said they like JVC???? man, you just dont know. lol But to each his own.
