Alpine display went dead???
I have an Alpine CDA-7864 and it has served me very well... till the screen (display) just went dead... There is nothing there. The lights 'inside' the buttons work but not the display. I found some site that sells replacement parts...
Does anyone know exactly what could be wrong ... What do I need?
LAMP, DISPLAY -65T25089Y02
LCD -65T35461Y01
(site: https://www.pacparts.com)
Thanks

does it come on at all? i know the 7894 has a feature called blackout mode.. but the display comes on when you press a button, it does this to conserve power.. i would ahve someone that knows what they are doing service it for you.. circuit city can do it for you and they will warranty the work, if you open it up and **** it then its on your *** not theres..
if the blackout mode is not engaged...it could be a bad circuit. Check what the price is for replacing the WHOLE faceplate ( pacparts list it ). Tech labor is not cheap ( nor should it be)...but the cost of parts and labor to install them could exceed the cost of just replacing the faceplate.
also attach the face to the unit and move it around, wiggle it, if it comes on and off then one of the wires connecting to the face from the unit needs to be adjusted, happened to an old pioneer of mine, bent the connection back and everything was fine
