///Alpine CVA-1003 help please....
I just got a use CVA-1003 and at the same time purchased the PAC TR-7 to bypass the parking brake. I did all that first then plug in the screen to my hareness and program the PAC module. Went to go plug up my PS2 to it to test out if i could play a game or movie. I turn on the head unit and switch over to AUX. I get sound but no picture just a blank black screen. I am now confuse, since i have already bypass the parking brake. I have google searched around and one or two things i found is that i should ground the video. Is that true, also I don't know which wire would be the ground. On the back of the head unit are the three RCA wires which i use to hook up te PS2. What else could there be. Could someone shine some light on my situation.
thanks in advance for any help.

You shouldn't be bypassing the safety features on the unit anyways... But, if you're hell bent on endangering your life (and the lives of others), here's what I'd do.
Do some troubleshooting. Hook the unit up properly (not using the bypass unit) and see if you get video then. If it works, then either you've got a bad TR-7 or you didn't connect it right.

First you have to program the pac unit, i dont recall what color wire i think it was brown or something and ground that twice and flip the little switch. light blinks twice.. then you wire it up.. read the directions carfully and make sure you wire it up correctly when you program. and then when you finally connect it to your alpine.
well i did the programming and that part has already been bypass. just having trouble having picture to come up. right now it is just a blank screen. the first screen was blue and said "picture off for you safety" after programming the pac that part doesn't come on anymore. yea the brown wire was the on where you ground twice. how many ground wires are there off of the hu? b/c someone said something about grounding wires to get moving picture or video.
Hmmm... I think I remember seeing something about this before... Have you tried hooking it up like you're supposed to and see if you get picture then?

it sounds like your screen might be bad
also i remember there was a way you had to go into the programing of the screen to actually turn on the vid input to accept the signal. i can remember exactly how but you can get the owners manual from http://www.alpineusa.com
hope this helps

So why don't you tell us what wires you tapped (and their respective locations) and we'll tell you if you got the right wires.

i know which wires to go to the bypass box. but at first you said troubleshoot and hook it up the correct way. well the correct way i dont know which wire from the car (vehicle) itself is the footbrake and parkbrake.

Well do a search and find the wires you need, hook it up the correct way and see what happens. If you hook it up correctly and it works, then, Mr. Obvious, you have a bad interface box. If it doesn't work, then you have other issues...
This is not that complicated, guy.... Basic troubleshooting skills come into play here.

Did you hook it up correcty yet and try it that way? Or are you gonna not even try to look under the dash for one of two wires coming off the brake pedal, or the only wire coming off the ebrake?

Not on the Alpines. You have to do a sequence with the foot brake and ebrake for the video to come on.
