Default Alpine CDA-9855 question...

I just bought this deck, hooked it all up and it works great - even has an amber display. My irritation is that the main screen goes black after five seconds of inactivity with the menu buttons, and once you touch something the screen comes back on. It's not a defect, as I checked a couple of local best buys and their decks were doing the same thing. I tried calling Alpine, but their customer service center is currently closed. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. I've dipped into every possible menu option I can see. TIA.

Hold down the display button until you hear it beep.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by suspendedHatch &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Hold down the display button until you hear it beep.</TD></TR></TABLE> It's hold down the FUNC button for at least 2 sec. to put it into or take it out of "blackout" mode, no beep. 94

Ya ya... fcm's got it. All I know is that on my 9835?, it's disp. I thought you'd be able to figure it out if it wasn't exactly that key on your model Alpine.
