Default Alpine CDA-9833 Review.

WOW. I'm glad I decided to go with this unit. I just hooked it up at lunch and put in a CD that wouldnt play in my last 3 units. And guess what?. . . . It played absolutely flawlessly. I am amazed at the difference this thing made to my stock components too. The V drive helps quite a bit. I havent had time to really tune it yet though, but it sounds great already. Also the ease of use is unbelievable too. Very simple settings. Not like some other units i have owned.

All I can say about this unit is that it is AWESOME and I cant wait to tap into it a little more and make it even better

I loved most of my older Alpine units too. I just got rid of my CVA-1005. it was a cool toy, but the Audio quality of the unit, just wasnt there. I am very happy with my new unit though.I cant wait to get my subs and amp hooked all back up on my new set up

ahh both of my old alpine decks crapped out & wouldnt read most burnt CDs. That alone has left me with a bad taste about Alpines.

this one has the MX option i think it is. It enhances the quality i guess of radio stations and like burnt cd's. I have one in now that wouldnt play worth **** on any of my last 3 units. being CVA-1005 with changer, Pioneer 900 series i think it was and an Eclipse unit. I forget the series.
So i am impressed at the moment

I was torn between the Alpine 9831 and 33, I liked the aesthetics of the 33 but couldnt justify paying the extra when my components are already amped. But after seeing this thread I did a little research and went and ahead and purchased the JVC, kinda impulsive but im sick of not having music. I'll let you know after i hook it up and all. I think the total came out to be 258.xx shipped, not too bad especially since I was planning on spending 300$ for a 9833..

Ahh edit: im gettin way sidetracked. But ITR206, good to see youre happy with the 9833.

the 9833 has bass engine PRO, as opposed to the 31's bass engine PLUS (the bass engine PRO requires a 10guage wire to be ran separately for the constant)....

i opted for the cooler deck...the JVC KD-AR5000.....

can you please explain to me how this is so?

i have owned 2 alpine decks 1 pioneer, and 2 jvc decks....not including my ar5000....of those 5 decks, 3 of them ate cd's, motorized face stopped engaging, and cheap buttons stuck....guess which ones? not the jvc's...

i can understand the low-end jvc models being bashed, but ALL of their new EXAD arsenal recievers are KING ****, provided that my ar5000 doesnt provide "imaging" withthe microphone, but the 7band eq does more than enough for me...

i just couldnt justify paying $100 more for a stereo that sounds ok, but is REALLY aesthetically unpleasing...it's my car, my reciever, and i'll be looking at that thing every time i turn the key, gotta have eye-candy too
