alpine bass & treble setup/configurations...
i have an alpine CDA-7894. i'm a newbie when it comes to audio stuff so help me out here. when i setup my bass/treble, it has 60Hz, 70Hz, 80Hz, 90Hz, 180Hz, 150Hz, 130Hz, 100Hz....what do all these mean? what should i set it to? this is my setup...
i currently have pioneer 3 ways in the rear and 2 ways in the front but the sounds are like ****. i want a little bass with no subs. my mom's explorer sounds better with her stock speakers than mine.

I have the same HU. Go to the Alpine website, and then go to the I-personalize section. That should be able to help you out somewhat. Those things are a bitch to set. I wish it would just have the old fashioned slide EQ's.

those are all different frequencies that you can adjust. the smaller the number the lower it is. as far as what to set them to, i dont think anyone can tell you that over the net. it really should be set up with an RTA. i'd suggest taking it to a shop.

not really...look at bass and treble as the 2 ends of the frequency scale. bass being at the low end and treble being at the high end. the lower the frequency the further it is to the left. the higher the frequency is, the further right it is. i'd suggest leaving them alone if you're not sure what they do.

I answered to the other copied post general help for this..... but for more info...
Human speech has a frequency range from approximately 100 Hz to 8,000 Hz, with the fundamental frequency being anywhere between approximately 80 Hz to 200 Hz
so while human hearing can be from 20-20,000 hz your gonna hear most of your musical sounds in songs from id say 40-9,000 max, 10,000 is almost unbearable to listen to at an high audible volume for long periods and is like the ringing in your ears. but keep in mine, that your speakers will not make much if any BOOM bass you can feel... at least not without an amp. So the frequency you might be able to get that sounds low is that 40-60 range .. that doesnt mean set the center there, just letting you know about where those low sounds you want are, that your current speakers can somewhat make are.

this is true if you're listening to test tones...otherwise if its part of any music created with instruments it shouldnt be unbearable.

yeah, I was just giving him a perspective, while we hear sounds in the whole entire range, they arent exactly loud or alone... but more noticable things like bass, and speach, etc... are... it was also to show, that bass in terms of what he wants, is a very small portion of the spectrum, and that while his goes into the 100s for center freq, it means nothing for his goal.
i somewhat have an idea of what you guys are talking about. can you explain to me the "K" on the treble? it has like 15K, 13K, 10L , etc...thanks!
