Sounds like your alarm is in valet mode...depending on what kind of alarm you have and who installed it you can set it into Valet mode...

You said you think it was the stock one, What does the Remote look like?

the remote says, KARR on the bottom and the armed button is in the middle..on the left says panic and the right says trunk....it came stock wtih my car from the dealer. i don't have a manuel either.. this sucks because when my alarm is going off... my car is blinking but no noise. ..

It doesn't sounds like a factory alarm, it might have been installed from the dealership or commercialed out at the time of sale. I know you said it's locking and unlocking but is the car arming or disarming? Is the LED light flashing or solid, if it is solid the alarm is in valet, you need to finc the valet switch or button, usually installed on the kickpanel or somewhere under the steering column. Find that...put the key in and turn it to on...don't start the car, just turn the key to on, push the button or flip the switch, the solid LED should turn off, problem solved....if that is the problem.

You said it's a 4 button viper remote, You should be able to get it out of Valet(if it is in valet) by pressing the "1" and "2" button...1*pause*2*pause*1*...about a half second pause inbetween buttons
