Alarm not locking sometimes!!! WTF?
I think I have an aftermarket alarm (Remocon) on my 1998 Civic coupe.
I would lock the car with the remote and when I try to unlock it, it doesn't unlock. I then have to use the key to unlock the door and the alarm would blast and I can't start the car. I would then unhook the battery and plug it back in and try as many ways as I can to unarm it. It unarms randomly.
I have since put the keyless entry and alarm remote aside and not use it. When I exit the vehicle and use the power locks to lock both doors, my driver side door lock would get stuck half way and not lock. I have to pull the locking mechanism out towards myself and then press down on the power lock to lock both doors properly.
Has anyone encountered the same thing?
Sorry for the confusing post. I tried my best to explain it.

Might want to take it to a place that installs alarms and have them look at it. If it's aftermarket then it's not a Honda issue.
to lock the driver door with power locks, you do have to pull the DOOR RELEASE lever to lock the driver door. Its supposedly a lock out prevention thing. Is that what you meant for the last part? as for the alarm...i dunno
Might be a bad remote or low battery in the remote. Or the whole system. I bought a cheap alarm system twice. First one lasted 8 months then went crazy and got all messed up internally. Second one, the remotes both failed within 2 weeks and the alarm was useless without them. And the seller wouldn't send just two remotes so he got negative feedback. After that I got a Viper and haven't had a single problem with it. I've only been using DEI products the past couple years and will never use anything else.
If the remote has a lock/arm button and a unlock/disarm button then the unlock/disarm button is "collapsed", [is defective], your alarm should have a "valet/program" button so you can "disarm without remote" and put system into valet mode so it can't be armed, you will need new remote. 94
