Default 99 Accord Keyless entry problems..

So I just recently bought a 99 Accord EX from a middle-aged married couple. It has factory installed keyless entry, as well as the factory headunit. Ever since I picked the car up, the keyless has been functioning inconsistently. That is, it only works about half the time I press ANY of the buttons on the keyfob. Sometimes I'll go out in the morning to leave for school and the remote will work properly from a decent distance away, other times I will literally be sitting inside the car and the remote will not operate any of the functions. I recently reinstalled the keyfob battery, thinking that was the problem. No such luck, the performance rate is about the same. The LED comes on everytime a button is pressed, regardless of whether or not it's actually communicating with the car. Has anyone ever encountered similar problems with the factory keyless system?

I would say your problem is in the oem keyless module and not the remote, now it could be as simple as a bad fuse, [defective] or poor contacts of the fuse "legs" in the fuse socket, just try replacing the fuse, [even if it looks good] 94
