Default 98 ex deck install

well this should be an easy one.just want to put in a cd deck and replace my oem tape deck.but don't know if i should put it on the top or bottom.i saw some of your reply and think i should get a harness and not cut the stock connector.where can i buy those harness??just any auto part store?? and one more thing is that i have a remote starter/alarm already install anything i should watch out for?? thanks
