Does anyone know of any head units that are semi hidden when not in use? I saw one at a store that had a completely black face which lit up when you turned it on.. I believe it was a JVC El Kameleon or something like that. I was wondering if any better brands make a similar unit since I heard JVC isn't the best quality.

 

get the Sony Face those a better they came out about a year ago. I dont know the model numbers are but they worth the money

I just bought a sony m770. When u turn it off the face is completely black, and if you really want you can still remove it too.

 

Kenwoods

 

kenwoods make units with a D mask in which the face flips over entirely when not in use and all you see is the back of the face.

 

i have the kenwood unit that masks itself. it is the KENWOOD KDC 715s unit. if you are interested in buying it, make me an offer.

I would recommend to get one that is detachable, because a theif knows what he is doing.
Let's say that there is two cars one with a black face that you can't see and one with a detachable face. He will break into both cars and he would be happy to see a radio that can be fully functional and have all it's parts, than one that is missing the face to it. He can't sell somthing that is missing parts.

 

well the unit i have for sale also has the option of detaching the face....
