People don't give this chassis enough credit. I love my DC5, can't wait to see what yours will look like with those SSR's. Super nice car man

this is my first dc5, i like in its stock form, so i imagine its only going to get better..... but it handles (right now anyway) no where near the ek9 i had.

well i decided to cut off the huge canister off the muffler and weld a straight pipe in its place, make new hangers etc.... so a friend of mine took me to meet this guy/shop owner in Hiroshima and I guess in the past this shop owner had engineered a champion dc5 for a couple of years and he knows the ins and outs of the car, where the weak spots are, where to spend money and where not to spend money to make the car better, we will see.

With that being said, I'm going to start with the muffler, he said he would also set up my new suspension for me once I got it in (which should be in a day or two).

And hopefully by cutting out that huge *** canister, it will give the car a little more purr...... because its almost as quiet as my stock muffler was.

well the sus has been dropped about 20 mil all the way around and rides like ***, everything they say about dropping this cars is true, the more you drop it, the worse it feels.... its like driving something made of jello.

backing up a minute, the shop that installed the sus called blitz and complained about them saying on their website and instruction Manuel that the car will drop 40 mil in the rear (which is not the case).... and now someone from blitz is going to come out Monday and check out the car, and if they agree, I guess the shop is going to get them to fix the product and have them pay to re install the part and re align the car.

but to be honest, i'm not dropping the car anymore (now anyways). reason being, again the handling.

things that i'm going to look into to fix this is:

roll center adjusters (j's racing makes some), i read somewhere that this helps
http://www.nengun.co...center-adjuster

roll cage, hopefully by doing this, the car will become more stable
rear sway bars (the shop said i should not buy them, because it would cause the car to under steer more, but the guys in the states swear by them)
make the car as light as i can, again, i read somewhere that this helps

If someone/ anyone knows of anything to help me combat this, please chime in.

well for those that are following.

the suspension is starting to feel a little bit better but not where I want it, blitz is still supposed to come down sometime this week and look at the sus on my car.... its according what they tell me they are going to do, IE make it better and do to what they advertised it to do..... If they agree to fix it, I'm going to ask them to set it up with better springs etc.

If they can't, I'm going to ask the shop to rebuild the sus that I have now, better springs, etc. If they can not, then I'm going to ask them to buy some used suspension that I can rebuild, and then have them do to do the correct set up that is needed to make this car handle better.
