I see, I figured it wasn't good for it but I'll be sure to avoid it in the future. And the other info was pretty good too, never knew about that.

It was only 29ft lbs tight but I won't need to use it anymore for things like that, got me some new sockets and extensions lately so I can use my long breaker bar with all my sockets now

Right man, Easy is the Bear Grills of Hondas haha.

Haha don't be jealous, its nothing too special. It is a good platform to build for sure, Its got a lot of the qualities that I look for in a car. Never getting rid of this thing though, I just love it so much. Even with a lot of worn out components, I still enjoy it.

Thanks Dan its a pretty humble build to be honest lol. The past year has been budget less since I wasn't working. Nice to meet you too man, hope to kick it again soon.

Update:

I need to do an overhaul on the thread and get the OP post sorted out with more current info. Hope to do that by next week.

Also, things are about to finally get moving once again since I finally got myself a job

Been working a lot lately and also doing a side job so I'll be paying off a few things and whatnot and start putting some money into this thing.

I want to save up for a daily and then after the summer or fall is over I'll be putting the car away hopefully so that I can wrench on it over the winter and have the time to tackle the more in-depth time consuming projects that I have in mind. Im excited for next year, things are finally falling into place so I hope it all pays off in the end.

Thanks for those who stuck with the build this past year especially, really thankful for all the good feedback and support! Stay tuned, some good updates are in order =]

Today I cut the main shape of it, took a good bit of effort too but progress was noticeable so it wasn't that. Sections at a time and taking breaks is key
I will be cutting it more and sanding the edges so that its an exact replica of the OEM one. I weighed them both using a regular personal scale so its not too accurate but its roughly 2lbs for the OEM one and the one I'm making is at about 4lbs now. I will get a better figure once its all said and done. I might also wrap the board with fabric or carpet somehow if I can, we'll see.
I was wondering if you can give me the dimensions on your trunk board...I want to do the same thing.

Bro you don't even know! Guarantee you this car will be one of those really memorable builds when its been somewhat completed.

I've got real big plans and all the time in the world so little by little I will get there. No rush, I just want steady progress

I'd really like to showcase my creativity/skills with this build but as a daily and with other stuff going on its just limited. I'll be managing my time better from now on, I've noticed how much time is being wasted when it could be better utilized.

As soon as I get my school stuff out of the way and everything ready to go, I will be trying to put in at least an hour of work everyday and surely with that pace it will get there.

Just so many little things that can be improved if I just invest some time but I get overwhelmed on what to tackle first.

I gotta get focused on this build and good things will come.

Got some awesome parts on the way so stay tuned!

Here are some lurk shots my sister took while I was doing my axles haha.

Lmao srsly. My driveway was paved and they didn't do a good job. Bunch of rocks just loose and the whole thing isn't smooth anyways. It sucks to lean on but I've got a cardboard box to lay on if I have to again!

Hey Paul, nice to see you in here. I might do it but not sure yet. Gotta wait a little more time to know. Yeah I agree, East coast does a much better job in attention to detail but no matter where you go theres always clean hondas hidden somewhere.

You should do it, would be a lot better than having to drive to TN and would be cheaper too. Plus it will make up for missing the summer event haha. Looks like it will be a good time.

Haha lets start posting body building tips lol.

Update:

Been putting in some hours at work so I've been busy with that and haven't really touched the car besides driving it daily however I did get a few Kobalt sockets and a 1/2'' extension (not picture) to add to my toolbox.

Cleaned up the garage quite a bit, from here should be straight forward to getting things better organized, still some stuff to remove outta there but its coming along. Been thinking about possibly building a bench but not sure if the time is right for that.

I also have some things in the mail coming in, can't wait

Here are the dimensions for the board. Disregard the fact that the lower left side is shorter than the lower right, the measurements are still correct.

Edit: Upon looking at my trace, it appears that the board isn't symmetrical. I thought I had just not traced it right or something but you can see that the left side is shorter to the edge than the right side is. So with that said, all measurements are accurate except the left side 6'' figure.

I went out for a test drive and WOW. The shift feel has improved a lot. It feels awesome, very direct feel to it. Much better than I expected. Its easier to gauge when the gear can be engaged. Yeah love it. Better than circuit hero and maybe even my Skunk2. Skunk2 is pretty good though, better than CH IMO. It depends on the shifter itself but I found thats how I feel with my short shifter.

The notchy feel is actually nice now, the shifter is just precise to where I want it and just seems to fall into place. Never knew light ***** felt this good! I like a nice weighted **** but this is neat for sure.

Gotta love being able to not burn your hands or freeze them due to it not being metal.

The **** hasn't been used in about 4 years. For whatever reason the sticker has yellowed but I got it for an awesome deal so I'll order a new sticker and be good!

Went for a few pics while I was at it too! Notice how my ride height is all messed up in the back especially. Also note how the front left mud guard is missing, stupid driveway always ripping it off :/

Just gotta raise it a little bit. Enjoy.

haha Portuguese my man, not spanish

Thanks man I love owning my Honda, its just fun because any thing you do to it there is usually a noticeable improvement and everything can be improved so yeah, its awesome.
Wouldn't sell it for a million bucks

Yeah hand drying is annoying. I had a real issue where washing the car was okay but simply drying them always left spots no matter what. It simply sucked. It would take a lot of times just going back and forth and it would still leave noticeable water spots or like streaks of tiny spots.

With that soap (that I still have 3/4 of still, lasting forever!) it does a good job with the washing itself, just gently using the wash mitt it removes everything well without effort.

When you rinse it, you see a bunch of fat water droplets, like they hold as much in as possible before splitting. Pass the shammy lightly and it just glides. Twist the shammy and do it again and most of it comes off. A 3rd time and you don't really see anything.

The only time I see water spots is when it rains, never after a carwash anymore! I like the soap its good, prob nothing incredible but it does a fairly good job. I'll be washing my car today and will take pictures.

Theres a product you can spray on the car after the wash that gets rid of water spots really well, I forget what it is but I'm sure its on a PM on my inbox. I'll see if I can find it.

I got that soap at Autozone btw. Also, I don't have to hand dry it but I prefer to because it only takes a few minutes to make sure there are no spots at all. It makes it easier for sure.

Edit: Heres a video I found of it in action, the water dissipates exactly as shown. Its in spanish but just watch the footage.
