I went to the junkyard and picked this up, trying to piece together a P/S setup to get it back. I figure its so easy, all I need is 2 or 3 new hoses and the pump lol.

Cleaned it up real quick.

Yeah, the guy I bought the car from started to go the ebay/go fast cheap route but luckily he only had it for 3 months and the guy he bought it stock. He did the cheap intake, header, tein springs on stock shocks, ebay spoiler, ebay hood, ebay shifter, etc so lucky for me he those were all relatively easy things to address. He removed P/S and A/C but IMO that really doesn't free up much hp, for a daily you really need A/C. P/S racks have too much play to be manual so it bothers me and its annoying not having it. Its doable without it but I would like it back. Makes me feel like my car isn't outdated.

I shoulda gotten this along time ago, I just got sidetracked with other stuff. I've always wanted it back.

I had no p/s in my old eg hatch that i used to daily never minded it.
My ek has no p/s either and i plan to run a looped dc2 P/s rack for my new set up
I have heard that some people rather the looped p/s racks then the manual ones

Yes, PS racks have a shorter ratio than manual racks. Longer ratios are used in manuals for ease of steering without power assist. The fastest oem ratio you can get is an Integra or Integra Type R PS rack looped and used as a manual.
Thats what I had in my EG and it was super tight, I loved it.

Ive driven a buddy's CX and the steering was pretty tight, no play but it was also really hard to turn but he has a B16A so with the extra weight over the wheels he could use PS lol. Felt good after I got moving though.

I can understand not bothering to put it but I dont understand taking it out. It feels better without PS when doing spirited driving but for a daily you might as well leave it. Zach's DA felt pretty nice and wasn't an issue turning for me but for 50 bucks Id rather just have the PS.

Nice info. I'm going to use P/S when I go K since the electronic system is a lot better than belt-driven. I love how it tightens up at high speed, etc.

Few people take it out to clean up the bay but to each their own.

Thanks homie, that is cheap regardless. For that you can buy a rusty cx here if you find one for sale lol. Feel free to post a pic!

Agreed, the single cam is lacking. It pulls good but I just want to have decent torque. Right now it's only semi decent. The plan is to hold out and go K20/K24 and skip the B. However if my D takes a crap, I will definitely
do a low-mid end B series (B18B,B20B/Z, B16A). I'm not for LS/VTEC, I'm somewhat a purist and just dont think that was meant to be. They're ticking time bombs, not worth the risk for me me. No matter how well they're built, they won't last like a normal motor.

As for the shifter yeah it's not there for looks, my short shifter sucks so when I get an oem one or something else I'll take it out, it just makes it easier to shift being extended.
Ahhh too many plans and a zero budget sux haha. It's almost like a dream build right now!

i see, What fluid do you put in the rack, regular P/s fluid? And how did u go about bleeding the rack for air pockets after looping it.

Very clean like what you've done with it. Sucks about the door car was pretty much mint before that.

I know, it was in perfect condition outside. Talk about wrong place and bad time

I get in the car, go to put in reverse and bam

The cheap ebay shifter the previous owner put on couldn't handle the stress of the extender lmao.

Yeah, a short shifter is too cheap to buy ebay. A name brand is no more than 45 bucks.

Its okay, it gives me a reason to actually go and get something. I was thinking OEM. My buddy's feels really good and its stock. I hear integras are good too but I'm not sure if they work?
