sooo just curious... what measuring system are you using to make sure your front end is going to be square?? Also, how do you plan on welding all those holes up after you have drilled completely through both panels??..
everything should slip back into place easily. but it doesnt... so once i get everything to set into place ill tack it together and throw the front end on to see if it aligns correctly. and as for filling in the wholes, im guna be filling it in with my mig welder.
any tips ?

if you're using your grandpa's body shop to paint it you might check with him to see if he has a measuring system. That way you can set everything up and get the front end in just the right spot. From there you can weld/tack it in place so it doesnt move then take it back home, fit up your sheet metal, head lights, and bumper to double check and make final corrections before completing all your welds. As far as drilling completely through the spot welds, it just makes it harder and more time consuming to weld up a through hole. What you might consider doing is grinding the welds on the metal you don't want. That way the pieces you are keeping remain undamaged. You can also use a spot weld drill bit. It just makes it easier to do a plug weld when you have a backing.. Let me know if this is making sense
Also if you get your hands on a helms manual it should list the under-hood dimensions. You can use either a tram gauge or a metric tape measure to make sure you're all square up top too. Trust me, if your frame is off when you weld it it can make a mess of the fitment. I do have to commend you on taking on such a large project
thanks for the advise, every little bit helps .

well, right now im still trying to work with what i got . its not my grandpas paint shop.. its a friends grandpas and sadly his shop is about an hour away from where i live. since i kinda bent a little bit of the the frame taking off the old front end, im still trying to shape it to where all the holes line up. then as for the "tram gauge" i have no idea what that is but ill look into it.
and also thanks, this project is a hand full... but its pretty exciting and i cant wait for the outcome.
