Default My LX sedan build thread

Hey guys this is the 4 door I picked up last summer. It is my 4th civic I have owned . My good friend Will blew up his crx with nitrous the same week so it was a big weekend ahead of me.

1. get the b16 in the sedan, convert it to multi port (this will be my third)

2. get the crx running again

Well, it took me three hours to get the motor out. I started at 1 00 and by 4 00 it looked like this:

I got the motor out of the hatch this next morning

I found out the rear crossmember will work on the sedan. Oh yeah, we got the crx back up and running today, runs like a dream!

The swap is going along really well. I swapped the rear crossmember and steering rack out of the hatch into the sedan since I don't have a power steering pump for a b series. Got the engine harness installed and distributor re-wired, I just matched the colors up and made sure it matched the original plug. I got the motor in it, actually I had to pull it out once because I didn't put a big enough dent in the frame rail for the alternator pulley, but other than that it dropped right in like it grew there.

1. get the suspension back together including axles and darkstar front crossmember and traction bars

2. convert the car to mpfi, hook up the radiator, hoses, wiring, etc...

3. wire up the knock sensor, vtec solenoid and pressure switch, and 2nd o2 sensor.

This is the power steering rack

a picture of the manual steering rack after a bottle of degreaser lol

the crossmember installed

getting ready...

and it's in!!

Got her lowered on h and r sports

I think it looks way better

UPS had a big surprise for me too

I am gonna freshen everything up on a budget, new rings and bearings, water pump, etc...

FedEx left me a treat at my neighbors house, don't know why they dropped it there

Best 200 bucks I ever spent :D

good ol' ebay. It is a HyTech replica, I am gonna have to hack it a little bit because I am obd0 and run two o2 sensors on it. I would cry if I had to do that to a REAL one lol

This is why I LOVE buying sedans. Clean *** interior! Not to mention power windows, locks, mirrors and cruise control. In my past with hatchbacks (I have owned 4 of them, still own 2 lol) buying a used hatch usually means some little ricer gutted out the interior or ghetto-rigged the wiring etc...

I really love a clean car, especially when it comes to the interior.

I don't think I am going to do anything to the inside

yes, but bigger is better, lol. I want torque for now. Planning on putting the b16 head and tranny (LSD) on there and see how I like it. Then it will be the little things

Like finding a different guage cluster

Replace the front filler peice and grille

etc...

This is my first time ever aligning my own car. Way simpler than I was expecting, you just put the car up on these

and loosen up the jamb nut on the tie rod, it is a 7/8 inch nut, and turn the steering rod with a 14mm wrench until your toe is set at zero. It was toed in 9 degrees

and for reference this is basically all I had to do to set the toe!!!

I picked up a wrinkle black GSR valve cover to replace the white one that was on there.

Tomorrow I am gonna try and find enough parts to put a stock intake that will perform well on it. I think I am gonna use the pm5 airbox along with a pm7 air tube, and k&n filter.

Picked up a stock airbox and new valve cover bolts for 11 bucks at the junkyard. I am going to use a stock pm7 intake tube and the factory resonators/silencers.

I found out my radiator has a small leak in it too. If the one they have at the junkyard is too expensive I will probably get a nice Ebay full size dual core.

How much of a pain in the *** is it to weld o2 bungs on stainless steel? My dad has a lincon welder from NAPA do I need to use different wire/gas?
