I just bought a rolling shell of a 91 Civic Si. It came with Hasport B series mounts so I was strongly considering a B series vtec engine, but lots of people are doing B series swaps so that’s a no go. I looked at K series swaps but lots of people are doing those too. I eyeballed a Honda V6 but decided it would be too much work.
I started to think about staying with oem look with a few alterations.
CRX Si had rear disk brakes, I have DA rear trailing arms and a second set of Civic trailing arms so the obvious solution is a rear disk brake swap onto my Civic Si.
I found a D16a6 with an L3 5 spd transmission, being it’s the same engine that came in CRX Si and Civic Si that’s a no brainer (still gotta pick up the engine and transmission) Engine will be getting a rebuild. I’m hoping for a mild performance rebuild, if anyone has suggestions I’m all ears.
Edit: after a little more searching I found a D16z6, now I’m tossed as to which engine.
Suspension wise I’m not sure whether to stay stock oem or see what era specific upgrade I can do, again suggestions are more than welcome.
Someone tried tinting the taillights 🤬 gotta get that tint paint off.
I did find a hood it was red I spray bombed it black, it’s only temporary till I buy a new hood.
