Icon6 PreyStayShuns '95 RS DB7 Build

After a severe accident I was forced to sell my DC and drive an automatic car for the last 2 years. I sure do miss her...

Last night I bought into my new venture (pics below) I have two children so buying a four door was a must. I spent hours looking for clean DB's with no luck. Then I stumbled upon this car...she's a total work in progress so don't flame too much...honestly, for $3k I figured I couldn't go wrong. I'm well aware she needs a ton of love but I'm hoping the end product will be that of something I've drooled over since the mid-nineties.

With no further adue, here is my 1995 Acura Integra RS DB7 (no sunroof, woot woooot!) w/JDM Front, she's b20 equipped w/a LS tranny (that needs a rebuild This is the only car I've ever had w/HID's! Ballin' JK JK JK

Surprisingly straight body, was stoked when I got there in person. It was recently painted by previous owner (w/in the last year.) I still need to purchase various mouldings for the windshield and pillars.

Bumper needs paint, he "kissed" someone like a week after the car was painted. Talk about "dumb luck" right? :-(

No carpet, *sigh...going to need to purchase used carpet but finding DB parts is pretty tough when it comes to interior stuff.

The amount of work this car needs is unreal, and its going to be a pain in the *** however, I've been searching for a DB8 for quite some time. As a father of twins it gets kind of old when driving a coupe...not gonna lie.

Anyways, I've never done a thread like this...but here's the start of it. I'll upload more as I go along.

Wish me luck guys n' girls! (politically correct)

98 spec 4x100- http://hondamarketplace.com/showthread.php?t=2809198
96 spec 4x100- http://hondamarketplace.com/showthread.php?t=2818331

I actually like the 96 spec pattern quite a bit but I can't seem to find them in 16"...which is crucial for the db8.

Call me cheap but i just wasn't interested in doing the real type r swap...well not yet at least.

Update seemed appropriate, its been a while. Money's been tight, but here are my latest parts...(suspension installed, will take pics when wheels go on) Still have not driven the car once since I purchased it, other then on the way home that day. Here's some pics of the items I've purchased in my search to better this car and make it drive-able.

Eibach Pro-System (Pro Kit springs/Dampers)

My Wheel Choice, I haven't seen many DB's w/this type wheel...in my never ending search I finally gave in. I was totally set on an OEM looking rim, and then these caught my eyes. Hope it looks good on the Championship White (not sure if I'm having buyers remorse though...too ricey?) A-Tech Erasers (Decals to go on shortly) AKA MB Weapon 16x7 et38. As soon as I buy tires for these wheels I'll update how the car sits via pictures.

Dunno why I even purchased this lower tie bar to be honest. Most told me not to, and im totally aware it won't serve much of a purpose but I'm going to let this be my placebo. Ill pretend it makes a huge difference. :-p. Besides, it was $35 shipped and it'll get rid of the Megan one thats installed at the moment. Ive heard lower tie bars hurt ground clearance but I'm pretty close to stock so I'm not too worried about it to be honest.

My next photos will be the pictures of suspension/wheels installed and hopefully the Legend 2-pot Calipers/Mini Rotor conversion. I was able to salvage my Legend calipers which were previously installed on my RS. I have everything except SS Lines, this time around I'm going to use the 11" Mini rotor(s)

Not quite...I have to get the shoes wrapped and take her straight to alignment. I hope to shoot full photos and update this weekend.

Thanks for the props!

Suspension on, wheels mounted and balanced...Still needs alignment. She sits a little higher in the front, but I'm not bothered by it to be honest as I read this and expected it. Its great for DD, and I haven't bottomed out yet. I've gotta find some JDM fender liners as well, best I found was a used set for $100. UGH!!!

Front View:

Side View(s):

Stance View, front 5mm hub centric spacers (since the JDM fenders are just a bit wider then USDM):

Pardon the dust 'n dirt...but heres a good shot of the tires, big in the lotus world....$340 shipped (Federal 595 RS-R's, 205/45-16 83w):

I noticed these shoes run wide...about 1" wider then my last 205's. The width seems to be near a 215 tire. No rubbing issues at full lock.

Blackworks rear lower tie bar. Appears to be a hard rip of the skunk bar. Pointless....I know. Cheap score so I figured I'd throw it on.

It'll have to hold me over until I order the '98 Spec ITR Sway Bar/Beaks combo. Thats the suspension mod I'm most excited about.

After all suspension is said and done I hope to have an amazingly perfect daily driver (or perfect for me at least) Anyways, here it is:

*These will be my last pictures for a good minute. Have to get the alignment done and need save up a dollar or two for a tranny re-build and figure I'll do a new clutch at the same time. Pops out of 3rd/gear grind...damn GSR tranny's, has about 100k on it so i'm just gonna have 1st-5th done all over again.

Thanks bud. Not coming along quite as quickly as yours but it'll get there.

My one regret is the various missing interior parts. Much harder to find then I originally anticipated.

Really I have almost everything except the interior carpet...which is killing me. I found used carpet on eBay for $75 shipped and didn't jump on it when I had the chance.

Today my Sprint 4-point shock tower bar came, I found it on eBay for $50 shipped, NEW. They retail for $130, I met this guy who has about 50 of them. If your interested send me a PM. Its very similar to the ever so famous Neuspeed tower bar. I haven't mounted it solidly yet because I'm going to repaint it flat black this weekend. trying to keep everything as "stock" looking as possible. Anyways:

My H-brace also came today, will also get painted flat black. Its an NRG knockoff (And no, I'm not worried about ground clearance issues since I only dropped about an inch.)

*Last suspension piece needed is the 23mm ITR sway w/Beaks kit.
