small update:
good news is i threw the slicks on and ran a personal best of 13.4@100mph
bad news is blew the engine on the next run
k24 is in the works and shooting for 12's

no i hit a couple snags with the k24 build but it's back on track. taking longer than i expected for some parts.
these are from a shoot a couple days before the motor blew. just now found them on my friends flickr.

local guy that's put together a few fast k series. he's got a 700whp turbo 8th civic and did my friends k24 too.
just gave him a bunch of parts and said make it work lol

i think that's it for the major stuff. gonna be upgrading things like the intake manifold, tb, cams, etc. in the future depending on what this setup puts out. just trying to get it up and running right now.

congrats bro on the new setup man!!!! finally an update on this build. love it!!!! If you did a better intake setup I see this car make 280whp!!!! definite 12 sec set car right here

i could do a better manifold/tb and bigger cams and make more power up top and inch it closer to 300hp, which is my ultimate goal. but this car is still 100% daily driven on pump gas. i drive it to work in the morning, home in the evening, and everywhere in between. i dont have an extra set of wheels to daily on, nor is the engine detuned for street use. what you see is what you get.
i'm happy with where it's at right now. maybe when i get to a point where i get another beater i can turn this into a full on project.

small update from two weeks ago:
for the past couple months since i got the k24 together i've been trying to hit those elusive 12's. only weight reduction was removing the passenger and rear seats and trunk plastics, open v-stack behind the bumper, and the slicks. other than that, it's as i drive it everyday. heat, ac/ps, radio, etc. didnt get a chance to weight it, but i'd venture it's around 3000lbs with me in it.
first hit of the day during test passes. i was super excited and would have been happy leaving right now lol.

times kept dropping with every pass as i started getting a feel for what it liked. then the 4th and final pass before qualifying...

and because everyone likes videos
