ok bought this car yesterday

94 acura integra LS
b18 non vtec
4 door
5 speed

bought it as it sits with 1st and 2nd gear. "test driving" it and 1st and 2nd went out. bought it about 45 mins away from home. SO! had to call people form home to come tow me back. So. 3-4 hours later getting home. it sits at it's resting spot. So the tranny is totally locked up.

Keep in mind. this is a playtoy i bought for cheap! don't bash. just keep -neg feedback to yourself thank you. Lets be adults here. But please put your comment in what needs to be changed or added or what would look nice. WITHOUT being rude. We are mature here.

bought car for $500.00 bucks as it sits.

Here is first pics of the car with 2 diff rims on front and 2 diff rims on back. (racingheart on rear)(fat 5's on front) ok ok tires.





carpet was nasty as hell. leather seats are in good shape but i do not like the cream. driver seat has a rip.










Now here is where the work starts.








everything is taken out because i am going to dye everything that is cream to black. seats,carpet,panels,dash. if it's cream/tan it's going black.






carpet was shot with "duplicolor fabric dye"


- Sanded emblem holes down and filled with bondo then resanded and base primed.
- flat black door jambs,engine bay,bottom of trunk lid and bottom of trunk.
- scuff'ed the underside of the hood and shot it basecoat and 1 shot of clear to see how the color will turn out. just 2 coats of base and 1 coat of clear. What do you think?






Tomm morning 7-10-09

wet sanding
covering windows
surface prep
shoot base coat (3-7 coats depending on how it spreads) (5-8 coats of clear)

- what color to paint fat 5's?
- install of fat 5's
- color sand and buff
- install headlights
-install amber lights
-install tail lights
-install coilovers
- install whatever else comes in the mail that day
-re install interior

 

Not bad for $500. I would of definitely bought it as well.

 

had to jump on it. been out of the imports for about 4 years now. i know a good bit about them all around. just went american. hemi yeah i know.

 

Think you need to learn how to do prep work and not just spray everything in sight. Rubber doesnt need to be painted....or wheels/glass/suspension parts.

 

i bought the car primed black.

 

that is not overspray on the windows. those pics were taken at like 6:30 in the morning. that is morning dew.

 

I've never understood why people put a big fuel pump in for no reason.

more fuel <> more power

 

friend is giving me boost kit. did not mention that. sorry. just a 16g turbo setup. but i need to buy a mani.

 

well for $500 i would have bout it... its a good starting point. looks solid. Its hard to find solid shells with no rust around here never mind with a running motor. A little tlc and it should b fine... keep us posted

 

it will be preped in the morning at 6am. and it will painted around 8ish and cured and dry by 4ish. pics will be up tomm ... but my friend has new fenders and front bumper so i might spend extra time sanding and putting those new fenders and bumper on car.

yeah this has a running engine just a garbage tranny. be nice if my clutch was here so i could have that in and it moving.

carpet was nasty. shampoo, wash, scrub. nothing take that stuff out. but was going to dye it anyways. well it is 8:30am. woke up late out last night drink'n. SO. late start and i cant get them bumpers or fenders. So. going to paint mine how it is. Off to go mask the car up and surface prep and shoot.

 

THERES NO RUST! ALL THAT MATTERS

 

Rubber seal at the front of the hood, hood latch, prop rod, rubber bump stops on the sides, part of your windshield and probably some misc other things I cant see in the pics.

As I stated, take the time to do your prep work.

ok! so it started to rain. "body has some major cuts and the front and back bumper" have seen some action i can tell. did not do body work to back and front bumper.

put 2 coats on this morning. waited for it to dry. wet sanded with 1500 grit.
put 2 more heavy coats. so it equal like 3 or 4 coats.
it is now drying.

tomm. wet sand with 1500,few coats of clear, wetsand, few heavy coats of clear.

the tires did not matter to me. i have a full set of fat 5's and i had to get it done before night time. all the rims are gapped up and tires are blah. but it turned out good. with no clear.

Looks pretty good. I think polished fat fives would look better or maybe even silver. But painted OEM wheels are Unless they're LS meshies haha.
