Vtec controller or chip ???
OK i have a 1990 EDM civic VT with a B16A, i have a short ram filter, and exhaust system,
which would be the best to do out of a Vtec controller and a chip (mugen, spoon etc) also how hard are the vtec controllers to fit????

mugen, spoon, skunk, toda, feels, etc....all of those chips are complete ****. they cut out about half of the stock sensors when they are installed...just so no CEL's. THEY SUCK.
if you go as far as to get a chipped ecu, which you SHOULD, go with a custom chip.

there might even be some local ppl on there that could help you.
good luck

yeah listen to this guy since my car ran 8.6 1/8th mile but once i put in a skunk2 generic program the car ran 8.1s with the same setup.

ya listen to this guy, even though there are about 10000 varibles that could have contributed to this time.
bottom line if the chip isn't dyno tuned for your motor its not gona do much good. cause all those chips mention are set up for built race motor which is most likly nothing like the one you run in your car.
if you can find a chip that some one has had a custom chip done and your motors are similar then that ok but still not ideal.
the vafc would be your best bet but still it isn't gona do **** unless you get it tuned on a dyno

u guys are both ignorant.
yeah 10000 variables that equated to 5/10ths and 3MPH. so what if it was a generic program. so what if it disabled the knock sensor. it ran a hell of alot better than the stock P72 did thats for sure. for the price of $60 for complete hardware for chipping the ECU and 4 chips i wasnt complaining. bottom of the line is it did make my car faster, cant argue that.
i would like to say though that my motor wasnt close to stock.

For one you cant use the jdm version pw0 chips for your euro ecu they don't work been there done that. I carry the euro mugen pwo program which is almost impossible to come by. If intrested e-mail me at polarbeartuning@yahoo.com if intrested.
