basic motor question.
well here is the thing...i had a tough time figuring out who to go to (FI or all motor forum) but i picked this one because i think you guys have the better general honda motor knowledge. Here is the thing, i currently own an integra and i want to go turbo. well, i will be going turbo. i currently have an ls motor in it and yea its fine but ive thought about swapping the b16 (b18 costs too much more and i dont see the advantage). what im wondering is all im seeing is advantages of the b16 motor over the ls. there is vtec for one, the rpm limit is higher, there is a difference in the bottom end(not really sure what it is but i know its like oil squirters or something) and i also hear that there is more strength in the bottom end. i know vtec isnt some awesome amazing thing but it is good technology that is non existant in the ls motor and the stroke is shorter so it makes it better for revving which i needs to do to get the power. so is one engine more superior than the other?
If you already have the LS, keep it.
LS will produce much more torque than the B16 will, on boost or all motor. Honestly this post should go under FI, but it's cool, I'm new so I have zero say.
Dude, keep the LS, the bottom ends are strong as hell, so I don't know where you heard the B16's were better... There's tons of boosted LS' with OEM bottom ends making 300whp DD. The LS is a great motor.
I say go LSVTEC and then turbo

hmmm im not to fond of the ls vtec. its good if its done right but by that time you might as well get the b16 and it will never be high revving. and ive seen stock b16 bottom ends handle that much power also so i still dunno.
