Re: b series

whooah thanks guys! what kinda of rods would i have to buy? can i just grab some eagle rods with high comp pistons and slap the gsr head in, would it work? thanks again though...

Re: b series

I vote for a rule to be added to the forum rules that the word "slap" never be allowed into any sentence that has to do with building an engine.

You would "grab" GSR length rods of whatever brand.

good shit people I was wondering this my self

fatboys_ef9 05-14-2009 12:27 PM

Re: b series

lol ok no "slap" use to build a engine.... so gsr length rods and high comp. pistons with a tune should almost be like a gsr bore to 2.0 right?

Combustion Contraption 05-14-2009 12:33 PM

Re: b series

What is "high comp" to you?

When you start mixing/matching blocks/cranks/heads its not really "like" anything anymore. It would be a 1932cc VTEC engine.

B20 block, gsr crank, gsr rods, rs machine 84mm itr copies, good stuff.

Re: b series

any forums of this set-up? i cant find anything about it....

Re: b series

you won't hear much about it. Simply because something CAN be done doesn't necessarily make it a good idea.

B20 block people stick with the stock crank for the purpose of longer stroke, so that higher rpms aren't necessary to make good power. Instead of 1932cc, you'd be over 1998cc which has even more torque potential.

You'll be searching for a while

Re: b series

If you dont know the reason you're using GSR crank into a B20 block, I wouldnt do it at all. Stick with the basics for now. You're just making things complicated with what you're trying to do.
In the end, I'm assuming this isnt even a race or "big" motor your planning to do.

Re: b series

i was planning on doing this thats why i ask bfor i even buy the parts, but its ok ill just leave the stock crank shaft on... i'll just find out for myself with this set-up...thanks
